Pride Toronto, Fierté Montréal, and Vancouver Pride, three of Canada’s largest Pride festivals, came together with a shared goal: securing targeted, stable federal funding to protect Pride as critical community and economic infrastructure, not just as annual events. St‑Aude Advocacy worked with their leadership to turn that goal into a coordinated lobby day on Parliament Hill, shaping a clear national ask and narrative that linked Pride to tourism, local business, and safe, affirming public space across the country. St‑Aude supported the coalition end‑to‑end: scheduling, facilitating, and leading meetings with key senior decision‑makers, including cabinet ministers and influential MPs, to ensure Pride leaders were in front of the people who could actually move resources and policy. The day was amplified by a press conference, organized and led by St‑Aude, that drew national media attention and positioned the festivals as credible, solutions‑oriented partners in advancing inclusive, high‑impact public investment. The lobby day helped shift how Ottawa sees major Pride organizations, from festival organizers seeking one‑off support to powerful economic generators and anchors of community impact at the heart of Canada’s cultural and tourism landscape.
